Cumberland Play Park
EOA was the Architect of Record, in conjunction with Hargreaves and Associates and Hawkins Partners, Inc, for one of the first phases of the Nashville Riverfront Master Plan, the Cumberland Play Park. The play park, situated along the East Bank, includes water features, an outdoor amphitheater, interactive play areas and adjacent support buildings. The outdoor amphitheater holds 1,200 people with a stage that can seat the Nashville Symphony along with medium and small performances. Play features within the park include The Hollow, the Scoops, The Gorge and The Explorer Trail, a crushed stone trail that weaves through plant groves and meadows designed to attract butterflies.
The park opened in April of 2012 and is consistently full of screaming, excited children encompassing Nashville families, residents, and visitors alike.
