Hill Center Five Points
EOA worked alongside H.G. Realty to reconstruct the two buildings, known as Hill Center Five Points, that were previously located at 10th and Woodland. On March 03, 2020, Nashville and our surrounding communities were hit with a devastating tornado. This event impacted our Nashville community, our friends and neighbors, as well as the businesses in East Nashville. This life-changing event especially impacted the Five Points area of East Nashville as well as the surrounding historical neighborhoods. The previous retail building that housed Burger Up Restaurant was totally destroyed, and the adjacent mixed-use building partially collapsed with only the first-floor structure remaining. The new Hill Center at Five Points includes a (restored) two-story 11,500-square-foot office building and a new 3,350-square-foot restaurant building with a rooftop bar at 970 Woodland Street.
Landscape architect and land-planning firm Hawkins Partner Inc. returned to occupy the top floor of the two-story office building, which was fully updated following the storm damage. The lower level also serves as office/retail space, after its previous iteration had been home to various businesses prior to the tornado.
As quoted by Gary and Kim Hawkins, whose office are located on the second floor of the mixed-use building, "We are building back, with resolve, returning to this place we call home! This is the vision we share of our 10th and Woodland corner — 110 South 10th Street — home of Hawkins Partners, Inc"
Reconstruction began in March 2021 with construction completion in 2022.
