Inspiritus Senior Housing

Inspiritus is a mixed-use, affordable senior housing development located at the intersection of Garfield Street and Rosa L Parks Boulevard in the historic Salemtown neighborhood of North Nashville. It was designed closely with our non-profit development team (Inspiritus and Nelson Community Partners) and community leaders with the specific goals of reducing housing burden, increasing social capital and promoting healthy living.

The project includes 80 studio and one-bedroom apartments for seniors and individuals with disabilities earning less than 60% of the area median income. In addition to the residences, the redeveloped property also consists of 9,500 square feet of public space for Inspiritus to expand its social services; spaces include a client-choice free grocery store, community kitchen, community meeting and educational spaces, as well as a therapeutic art studio and collaborative spaces for local non-profit partnerships.

As a part of the funding structure, the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) awarded Inspiritus $17.8 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Construction for the project is expected to commence in the fall of 2024.
