Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

The goal of Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is to unite the Deaf, the hard of hearing, and the hearing communities through education, services, and support, empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. In 2012, Bridges purchased an existing former daycare facility in the Edgehill neighborhood after selling their property in the SoBro area of downtown Nashville. This location provided better access, visibility, parking, outdoor space, and room for expansion in the future.

Program functions include new main and after-hour entry vestibules, reception, gathering lounge, classrooms, computer room, interpretative services office area, youth activity center, workout room, volunteer area, administrative offices, board room, break room, support spaces, and a multipurpose community space in the new addition with access to a kitchen, restrooms and outdoor terrace.
