Looking Back and Looking Forward: The 100th Anniversary of the War Memorial Building
"Dedicated on September 21, 1925, as a monument to Tennesseans who died fighting in World War I, War Memorial Building in Nashville has been a bastion of fidelity at the southern foot of Capitol Hill for over a century. Neighborhoods have been built and razed; blocks cleared and rebuilt. Different generations have gathered and marched. War Memorial Building, however, has endured. It is a testament to both staying power and measured change."
In 2022, EOA was hired as the design team, with our friends @centric_arch, to fully restore the exterior as well as provide a full interior renovation of the War Memorial Building, including new building systems. Construction commenced in early 2024 with an anticipated 2026 completion date. We are honored to be working on such a living monument in our city.
