The Tennessee State Museum Anniversary
This year’s Statehood Day will serve to not only celebrate Tennessee’s birthday – it will mark 226 years since it became a state – but also to commemorate the 85th birthday of the Tennessee State Museum, established on May 21, 1937. EOA completed the new Tennessee State museum with museum designer HGA in 2018, creating an inspirational and distinctive state-of-the-art cultural facility.
Join the Tennessee State Museum and other state partners all along the Bicentennial Mall campus on June 1, and again on Saturday, June 4, to commemorate and celebrate their commitment to telling Tennessee’s stories.
As part of the commemoration at the Museum, Ashley Howell, the museum's executive director, will present “85 Years of Tennessee Treasures,” a keynote lecture on Wednesday, June 1 at 11:30 a.m. in the Digital Learning Center. The celebration will also include games on the front lawn and crafts in the Grand Hall.
