25 years! and more…

This week we celebrate Sheila Dial Barton with 25 years at EOA! In addition, Sheila was just chosen to be a member of the 2023 Leadership Nashville class. The course will begin in September and center on issues related to government, media, education, business, diversity equity and inclusion, quality of life, health, arts and culture and the justice system.

The goal of the program is to strengthen Nashville by forming connections among proven leaders across a variety of professions, industries and identities

First, studying Interior Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Sheila later received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee in 1997 and studied urban planning through UT’s foreign exchange program in Krakow, Poland. Sheila has been involved with the AIA since graduation and has served on the AIA Honor Awards Jury in 2001, on the AIA Middle Tennessee Board of Directors, later as President in 2009, and as the Director of the Middle Tennessee Young Architects Forum from 2003 to 2005. Sheila's extensive community services include serving on the Interior Design Advisory Board at O’More College of Design, on the Metro Public Arts Committee and the Board of The DISTRICT.

Sheila is a current member of ULI Nashville and current Chair of Mission Advancement for the organization.
